FX confirms a Far Cry live-action, anthology series

FX has officially announced a live-action Far Cry series, with an anthology format where each season will tell a different story—faithful to the structure of the video game franchise.

The project is being developed by two heavyweights from the channel: Noah Hawley (Fargo, Alien: Earth) and Rob McElhenney (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia), who will also star in the first season. The series will air on Hulu in the United States and Disney+ internationally.

Ubisoft has given the creators carte blanche to adapt the Far Cry universe, known for its exotic settings and, above all, its memorable antagonists.

No additional casting or release date has been revealed yet, but FX promises a spectacular approach focused on action and the exploration of human themes from a chaotic angle — in the spirit of the games.
