Funcom closes The Outsiders, the studio behind Metal: Hellsinger

Funcom has confirmed the closure of The Outsiders, the Swedish studio known for the FPS Metal: Hellsinger. Founded in 2015 by David Goldfarb, the studio became Funcom Stockholm after its acquisition in 2021.

In a message published today, Goldfarb expressed his sadness at the decision, recalling that the team had already survived a painful cancellation with Darkborn before bouncing back with Metal: Hellsinger.

After ten years of existence, The Outsiders leaves behind a single but remarkable success, praised for its soundtrack and unique gameplay combining shooting and metal music.
