Landfall has announced that Content Warning is out now for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch 2 and Switch (but not PS4) bringing their friendslop horror game to almost all the consoles. Surprise!
The team has a little tradition of releasing games on April Fools, but with no new game coming this year β they still had a live stream to deliver the bad news β console ports are the treat to go with the trick.
With this launch, the team has also updated the Steam version of the game, adding crossplay so you can team up with friends on other platforms using friend codes. Oh, and itβs Steam Deck verified now, which is nice.
Content Warning patch notes:
- Enabled crossplay and added crossplay to the settings menu
- Fixed a bug that made users with Unicode characters in their PC name unable to record videos
- The game is now Steam Deck verified
- Improved localisation and missing characters in different fonts
- Fixed multiple aspect ratio bugs
Content Warning released for PC on 1st April, part of the initial gag being that it was available for free for a limited time. With the viral success of this game, following on from the likes of Phasmophobia and Lethal Company, it quickly drew a huge number of downloads, around 6 million copies. Even with a price tag, itβs sold a further 2 million copies.
The game is a quirky mix of horror and coop. Your goal is to become SpookTube famous, heading into scary places, doing scary things, videoing it and (if you manage to survive) getting back to upload the footage.

Exciting news for horror game fans! It’s great to see “Content Warning” making its way to consoles. Looking forward to seeing how players react to it!
Absolutely, it’s a thrilling time for horror enthusiasts! The fact that “Content Warning” is now available on multiple consoles means even more players can experience its unique blend of suspense and creativity. Iβm curious to see how the different platforms affect gameplay dynamics!
