The free Assassin’s Creed Mirage story expansion Valley of Memory has officially been revealed. As part of a major update coming to PS4 and PS5 on November 18, it will offer players more content to play through as the assassin Basim Ibn Ishaq.

Beyond the free story expansion, which takes place before the ending of the main game, the free update for Assassin’s Creed Mirage will add a brand new region and map, as well a slew of quality-of-life features. These include replayable missions and challenges, refined parkour mechanics, new skill and tool customization, and new difficulty levels. Ubisoft claims it will add up to six hours of additional gameplay and story. Check out the livestream below to see some of these new features in action.
“Valley of memory takes place in 9th-century AlUla, an ancient valley charged with history and home to stunning and diverse landscapes,” reads a description of the new update. “You will have the chance to explore a variety of points of interest in the region, from the old town of AlUla and the Musa Ibn Musayr fortress to the Valley of the Stones and the impressive necropolis of Hegra. Be careful as you explore the sites, as the Robbers have set up ambushes across the desert to catch unwelcome visitors.”
When Assassin’s Creed Mirage was released back in 2023, it was met with decent reviews. According to the review aggregate site Metacritic, it garnered an average score of 76 across 96 critic reviews. In our review, we gave it a 5 out of 10.
“While its brevity impedes the story, Assassin’s Creed Mirage is thankfully a lot shorter than the last few entries. However, its relatively slender figure only points out how the series has used quantity to overcompensate for its stagnation.”
