Free subscriptions to Xbox Game Pass are being handed out thanks to the service’s latest collaboration, but only a select few will be eligible to claim.
While all of the current gaming subscription services have their flaws, Xbox Game Pass stands as the objective best of the bunch. It’s not perfect, but with so many day-one first-party exclusives like Halo: Campaign Evolved it at least makes tiers like Ultimate worth the extra money.
Those who are yet to experience the pleasures of Game Pass, however, can now do so with a new offer from Discord; or more specifically NVIDIA.
Through the NVIDIA App gamers can claim a three-month subscription to Discord Nitro, which now comes bundled with an Xbox Game Pass Starter subscription.
To claim, all you need to do is set up a NVIDIA account if you don’t have one already, launch the app, log in and redeem your membership. It couldn’t be simpler.
The only problem is this offer won’t be available to everyone. The offer is aimed at new subscribers to Discord Nitro, so if you currently have a membership or have had one in the last 12 months, you won’t be eligible.
Nevertheless, it’s a decent offer for those yet to give it a go, though you should only be claiming for the free Xbox Game Pass. Discord Nitro is notoriously hated as it locks basic features behind a paywall.

What’s included in the Xbox Game Pass Starter subscription?
Like we said before, Xbox Game Pass Starter is an entry-level membership intended to give you a taste of what the larger Game Pass subscriptions can offer.
You get access to 50 titles such Ori and the Will of the Wisps, DOOM Eternal, The Elder Scrolls Online: Standard Edition, and Fallout 4.
There’s 10 hours of Cloud Streaming each month offered for those that don’t like having to install their games.
As expected, it’s a very basic offering, and unfortunately it misses one of the biggest inclusions of all: online multiplayer. For whatever reason, this was omitted from the tier so unless you’re playing a free-to-play online game like Fortnite, you won’t be able to play with friends.
All in all, this special offer is fine. The obvious problem is it’s only available for those who haven’t been subscribed to Discord Nitro, either ever or over the last 12 months. With the amount of free memberships the service has doled out over the years that’s bound to be a very small number of gamers, so thousands of people will be ineligible for this deal.
For those who haven’t had memberships though, this is worth a go, especially if you fancy playing 50 free games and don’t care about online multiplayer.
