Forza Horizon 6 Will Offer a “Broad Range” of Cars, Explore Japan’s “Unique Car Culture”

If there’s anything unsurprising about Playground Games’ Forza Horizon 6, it’s the confirmation of a “broad range” of cars. Obviously, the development team can’t delve into much right now – more details will be revealed in early 2026. However, in a new interview with Xbox Wire, art director Don Arceta and culture consultant Kyoko Yamashita discussed depicting the region’s “unique car culture.”

“While we can’t reveal any specific details quite yet, we will of course be following in the footsteps of Forza Horizon 5 in delivering a broad range of cars that players will know and love,” said Arceta. “Japan – of course – has a unique car culture all of its own, and we’re excited to have the opportunity to explore that in this game.”

Yamashita called its depth and diversity “astonishing,” adding that, “Kei cars and vans with cult followings, precision motorsport, drifting’s roots, and their passion for customization really stands out. It’s welcoming to different levels of enthusiasm and knowledge, which is exactly the kind of layered world I want players to feel.”

Kei’s cars will likely be included, especially since a now-removed Instagram post saw the team scanning the vehicles (which led to rumors of Forza Horizon 6 in the first place). Given the country’s rich history of car brands, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the likes of Nissan, Subaru, Mazda, and many more. Now it remains to be seen which ones are included.

The wait is on, regardless, as Forza Horizon 6 launches sometime in 2026. Arriving first for Xbox Series X/S and PC (alongside Game Pass), it will also launch for PS5 at some point in the future (with Turn 10 Studios assisting on the same). Head here to learn about some of the open-world racer’s locations and how the changing seasons will impact the environment and immersion.
