Filipino Indie Game Relic Abyss Enters Early Access This November

The anime-inspired bullet heaven roguelite RPG Relic Abyss from a 3-man Filipino indie studio Reverse Loop is set to enter Steam Early Access on November 26, 2025, with a full release planned for 2026. The studio also confirmed console versions with support from Spanish publisher Mameshiba Games.

As the developer describes it, โ€œRelic Abyss is an original Survivors-like, Bullet Heaven, Roguelite with some RPG elements and a distinct โ€˜90s anime-style aesthetic.โ€. I tried the playable demo (available now via Steam), and it immediately reminded me of Vampire Survivors, as the difficulty and the chaos slowly ramp up quickly as you level up your character during a run. The demo features five playable characters and an introductory chapter, giving players a solid preview of whatโ€™s to come.

Relic Abyss Early Access Details

Relic Abyss will launch in Early Access with its 0.6 build, expanding significantly beyond the demo. Players can expect:

  • Three playable chapters

  • 15 out of 20 playable characters

The full version is even more ambitious, with Reverse Loop planning to include:

  • 20 unique playable adventurers

  • Over 134 character-based skills

  • A wide arsenal of relics and combinations

  • Lootable equipment and upgrades at a central hub

  • Quirky NPCs introducing new gameplay systems

  • Procedurally generated levels

  • Enemy waves and bosses with unique attack patterns

  • Six environments with 20 progressive difficulty levels

  • An original soundtrack featuring 30+ tracks by Buch Dacanay

Mameshiba Games to Publish Relic Abyss

Reverse Loop has had a busy year. After releasing the demo in June, the team has now secured a publishing deal with Mameshiba Games (known for Super Muscle Cat and Ambidextro). Based in Cรณrdoba, Spain, Mameshiba focuses on supporting unique indie projects like Relic Abyss.

Thanks to this partnership, the roguelite is not only coming to PC via Steam sometime in 2026, but also to consoles – Switch, Switch 2, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.

The game is already listed on the PlayStation Store and the Microsoft Store.
