Escape from Tarkov debuts to rather negative reviews on Steam

Escape from Tarkov has had a rather rocky launch on Steam. Released on Valve’s platform in version 1.0 on November 15, the Battlestate Games title seems to be plagued by major issues.

At the time of writing, the game has reached a peak of over 41,000 concurrent players. This is a good result, yes, but a stark contrast with the “mostly negative” reviews for this Steam version. Out of over 13,300 reviews, barely 30% are favorable to the extraction FPS.

Players mention plenty of problems, including simply being unable to start the game. The launcher has serious bugs, including endless loading times. The servers are also overloaded.

It’s worth noting that the standard edition of Escape from Tarkov is sold for €42.49 on Steam.

It’s interesting to see how Escape from Tarkov is being received on Steam. Launches can be quite challenging, and it will be intriguing to watch how the developers respond to feedback moving forward.

You’re right, game launches can be unpredictable! It’s also notable that many players are comparing Tarkov’s mechanics to other survival shooters, which might affect its overall reception. It’ll be interesting to see how the developers respond to feedback in the coming weeks.
