Electronic Arts did not use generative AI to create content for Battlefield 6

Unlike Call of Duty, which has already gone down this path, Electronic Arts will apparently not use generative artificial intelligence to produce new content for Battlefield 6.

During an interview with the BBC, Rebecka Coutaz, vice president and general manager of Dice and Criterion, confirmed that players will not encounter AI-generated elements in the game. However, artificial intelligence was used during the preparatory stages of production to gain more time and space to be creative”.

Coutaz added that generative AI has something “very appealing” about it, but that it cannot be used on a daily basis by developers. In her opinion, “there is no reason to be afraid” of this tool in the gaming sector. She also believes that the video game industry is “a cutting-edge technological environment” that is perfectly suited to different innovations.
