The Elder Scrolls and Elden Ring are two wildly different game series but this glorious crossover would have you believe they’re the same thing.
The next Elder Scrolls game will be The Elder Scrolls VI, which hasn’t even had a new screenshot since its reveal back in 2018.
Elden Ring is in a similar boat as while it got an excellent DLC expansion in Shadow of the Erdtree it seems like there are no plans to continue it with a sequel, aside from the spin-off Elden Ring: Nightreign of course. The Elden Ring live-action film is also in the works though and behind-the-scenes shots look exceptional.
The crossover below should cater to both fanbases though as it plans to merge The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and Elden Ring into one RPG, and the best part is the project’s being driven by spite.
Elder Scrolls And Elden Ring Collide
The project is in the works with InfernoPlus who’s attempting to mod Morrowind in its entirety into Elden Ring.
When the mod’s finished, players will be able to undertake a new adventure in Tamriel like they’ve never seen it before, through the perspective of their Elden Ring character.
It doesn’t just aim to make the open-world from Morrowind explorable either, enemies and NPCs are also being brought over too.
The best part of this gargantuan project is that while development has been slow, the latest look at the game was fuelled by one singular comment left on one of InfernoPlus’ previous videos, claiming the mod will never be finished.
“This video is dedicated to that one guy that commented that this project was not going to come out, that it was going to take like 10 years and I was crazy. To you my man, enjoy.”
InfernoPlus then takes viewers through some of the mod’s completed and in-progress segments, claiming that “tremendous progress” has been made since the mod’s last update.
It’s impossible to argue anything else as what we’ve seen of the mod so far is utterly divine. The attention to detail and mere scale of the project must be commended and it only makes us more excited to play the mod for ourselves when it’s finished.
There’s still a lot of work to be done though, such as building the rest of the map, giving the NPCs voices and more.
A release date for the mod hasn’t been set yet with good reason but with any luck, it might be finished by the end of 2026, maybe 2027 at a push.
That might sound like a long time but we’d bet money that we’ll get Morrowind in Elden Ring before we get The Elder Scrolls VI, but not before Grand Theft Auto VI…
Clearly, it’s going to be worth the wait though and we hope that one guy who thought the project would never come out is pleased to see how much progress has been made since he last commented.
