Elden Ring Nightreign’s Upcoming Patch Allows Players to Reduce Deep of Night’s Difficulty

The Deep of Night arrived last week in FromSoftware’s Elden Ring Nightreign, and its difficulty is no joke. For some players, this is good news, having exhausted the Everdark Sovereigns, but what about those suffering from the lower Depths and seeking some respite?

An update is coming soon that will allow players to increase the Depth level by one. It also adds rank demotion protection, so if you lose in Depths 3, 4 or 5, you won’t automatically go back a level. Depth 3 offers protection for one defeat, while Depths 4 and 5 allow up to two losses. Best of all, they’re not a one-time thing – deranking and eventually regaining access enables them.

If that wasn’t enough, Depth 1 players matched with those ranked Depth 2 or above will no longer suffer point loss. FromSoftware also addressed a bug causing rankings to remain static after a victory.

Stay tuned for more details on the patch’s release date in the coming days. Elden Ring Nightreign is out now for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PS4, Xbox One, and PC, with additional DLC coming later this year.
