Elden Ring: Nightreign DLC Will “Take It Even Further,” FromSoftware Owner Says

From seemingly improbable co-op rogue-like to FromSoftware’s latest hit, Elden Ring Nightreign surprised many with its sales success. Released in May, shipping over five million units in less than two months – not bad for a developer well-versed in single-player titles.

Kadokawa Corporation, the developer’s parent company, agrees in its Q2 fiscal year 2026 earnings results, noting that it “performed well beyond initial expectations.” Considering net sales and operating profit were otherwise down year-on-year, it’s worth further banking on.

To that end, the company is aiming for “future sales growth,” especially with DLC planned for sometime this fiscal year. It essentially confirms it will launch by March 31st, 2026, even though FromSoftware initially stated Q4 2025 on the game’s Steam page. The latter was quickly deleted, so take that with a grain of salt.

Of course, there’s also Elden Ring Tarnished Edition, a Nintendo Switch 2 port featuring the base game, Shadow of the Erdtree and new armor and weapons. Originally slated for this year, it’s since been delayed to 2026 to prioritize performance.
