EA Sports UFC 6 Gets Hard-Hitting Gameplay Trailer, Ken Shamrock and Randy Couture Confirmed as DLC

Electronic Arts finally took the gloves off and showcased gameplay for EA Sports UFC 6, which debuts on July 19th for Xbox Series X/S and PS5. As you’d probably expect from a trailer, there’s plenty of punching, kicking, knee strikes, and a few knockouts for dessert. Check it out below.

While EA Sports hasn’t gone into full detail about the new features, it has outlined the new modes with “immersive storytelling that makes every fight feel personal.” These are Hall of Legends and The Legacy, the former seemingly consisting of famous matches across UFC history, while the latter appears to focus on creating your own fighter. From there, you can go from third-rate areas without a proper ring to the main stage, ideally while improving various aspects of your fighting style.

Of course, you have the usual bells and whistles from EA, including Markerless Capture and Sapien Technology to ensure even more true-to-life fighters. Real-Time Contact harnesses Frostbite for ragdoll physics and damage reactions, and Flow State seemingly allows for a higher level of performance if you’re really performing well.

And while all of that should ensure a compelling experience for fans of previous titles, UFC aficionados will be happy to hear that Ken Shamrock and Randy Couture are playable for the first time. The bad news? You need to buy the Fighter Pass, currently available only in the $99.99 Ultimate Edition, to unlock them. At least it features six other fighters, and this version offers seven days of early access. Head here for more details.
