There’s been a lot of debate over how and when Goku actually unlocked Super Saiyan 4 in Dragon Ball DAIMA. At face value, it seems like Neva drew SSJ4 out of Goku, but dialogue later in the series implies that he actually already had access to Super Saiayn 4 all along, and just couldn’t transform by himself with in his mini body. Things got even muddier when Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot‘s DAIMA DLC released with a brand-new ending that added on top of the anime’s lore.
