Born out of the madness of Dark Souls, this tyrannical, prehistoric RPG is chomping its way onto our screens this July, and your first bite is free.
There are fewer recipes juicier than the one laid out by Dark Souls.
But when you sprinkle in some dinosaur fossil fuel and squeeze it through the Steam press, you’re left with a smooth diamond.
That’s the case for Dinoblade, as you take control of a young Spinosaurus in an alternate universe where the ice age was replaced by a mysterious cataclysmic event and the beasts wield great swords in their gobs.
Dinoblade Launches This June, Free Demo Live
Revealed back in 2025, Dinoblade was a quirky idea that combines souls-like combat with dinosaurs. Brilliant, if you ask me.
It’s not just a fighting simulator either, as the RPG title sees players master the Final Fantasy-like blade, levelling up skills and abilities, before trying to save the species from extinction.
Dinoblade is an intense action RPG set in a prehistoric world forever changed by a cataclysmic event,” reads the Steam description.
“Venture across a sprawling world filled with awe-inspiring biomes, from dry canyons to dense, mist-shrouded jungles. Each region is ruled by a ferocious Alpha, an apex predator who guards the path forward. Defeat them, or be devoured.
“Confront rival dinosaurs, some armed with brutal weapons of their own, all in a desperate fight to prevent a looming extinction.

Currently, Dinoblade is free in a demo state, with its full release now announced for July 23.
The demo has already pulled in a number of fans, most of whom have left rave reviews. It’s only about an hour long, and leaves players wanting more (as a demo should do), but its worth the small investment to get up to scratch before sinking your talons into it when it arrives in full next month.
“I love the fighting style and the whole thing. I’m not the best at souls-like games, the final boss had many attempts for me but got it down,” one player said.
A second added, “I just needed to say that this is probably the best 48 minutes of my life playing a video game! I love the vibes and gameplay so far, and i cant wait for the full game!
Currently, there is no price set for Dinoblade, but you can imagine that the indie title won’t take much of a bite out of your leather purse, with all of its gnashing done in-game.
