Bloober Team’s Cronos: The New Dawn didn’t quite experience the same level of success as its last title (Silent Hill 2 remake), but it’s performed well enough. With 500,000 units sold, the developer has announced a new difficulty mode for early 2026: Temporal Diver.
Showcased in a rather cheesy trailer, which features a Traveler intercepting “complaints,” such as those who’d like to play through the survival horror for its story, this mode makes things easier. How? Well, you’ll need to wait for more details on that front, but such is the studio’s calling that it recognizes those who want a less punishing experience.
Cronos: The New Dawn is available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. As a Traveler, players venture to the past to capture and transport the essences of key individuals to their present – a brooding wasteland where horrible monsters roam. Resident Evil and Dead Space are clear inspirations, but it still stands out as a compelling experience – check out our review for more details.

It’s interesting to see Bloober Team introducing an Easy Mode for Cronos: The New Dawn. This could make the game more accessible for a wider audience, which is always a positive move. Looking forward to seeing how it evolves!
It’s definitely a smart move by Bloober Team! An Easy Mode can make the game more accessible to a wider audience, allowing more players to enjoy the story and atmosphere without the challenge. It will be interesting to see how this impacts player engagement and feedback once it’s released.
