As much fun as it is to explore Pywel and comb its corners as you seek to reunite the Greymanes, Crimson Desert is also about combat. Kliff and the two other recently revealed companions are formidable combatants, and in the second of its Features Overview series, Pearl Abyss is diving into all the different options available.
From previous gameplay thus far, we’ve seen Kliff dishing it out with swords, shields, spears, dual blades, and much more. However, you can also leverage the grapple to pull an enemy off their mount and commandeer it to attack other foes. As for the other characters, they can wield axes, greatswords, and rapiers, and unleash powerful abilities, including a Ninja Gaiden-style Izuna drop.
There are even muskets to go with the other ranged options. If you prefer beating an enemy with your fists or grappling, that’s also easily arranged. Everything can be paired with elemental attacks, even if it’s just propelling yourself in the air with Wind magic to then dive-kick enemies below.
Crimson Desert launches on March 19th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. The hype continues to build heading into launch, especially as Pearl Abyss recently announced more than two million wishlists.
