The nominations for The Game Awards 2025 have been announced, and unsurprisingly, Sandfall Interactive’s Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is leading. The twist is that it’s nominated in 12 categories, which is the highest in the event’s history.
Alongside Game of the Year, it’s nominated for Best Game Direction, Best Narrative, Best Art Direction, Best Score and Music, Best Independent Game, Best Debut Indie Game, and Best Role-Playing. In the Best Performance category, Ben Starr, Jennifer English and Charlie Cox were all nominated.
Aside from Expedition 33, Sony also has a strong presence in the nominations with 19 in total. While Ghost of Yōtei isn’t in the Game of the Year running alongside Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, both titles share nominations for Best Narrative, Best Game Direction, Best Art Direction, Best Score and Music, and more.
