Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Leads in Nominations for the Golden Joystick Awards

2025 still has miles to go before it sleeps, but award season is slowly creeping up on the gaming world. While The Game Awards and its surrounding hoopla are in December, voting is now available for the Golden Joystick Awards 2025 (via GamesRadar). To no one’s surprise, Sandfall Interactive’s Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 stands out with the most nominations, totaling six categories.

These include Best Storytelling, Best Visual Design, Studio of the Year, Best Soundtrack, Best Lead Performer (Jennifer English as Maelle) and Best Supporting Performer (Ben Starr as Verso). The recently released Ghost of YĹŤtei, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, and Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 are next in line at four nominations each.

Overall, it’s a pretty varied spread, even within the categories, like FromSoftware’s Elden Ring Nightreign competing with indie hit PEAK for Best Multiplayer Game. A separate list for “Ultimate Game of the Year” will be revealed on November 3rd. However, voting in the current categories is live until October 31st, 5 PM PDT. The winners will be announced on November 20th, so stay tuned for updates.
