Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Has Sold 4.4 Million Units

While Hollow Knight: Silksong has made an impact and become a Game of the Year frontrunner, its biggest competitor, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, has reached a new sales milestone. Speaking to Twitch streamer Antoine Daniel at ZEVENT 2025, Sandfall Interactive revealed that the turn-based RPG has sold 4.4 million units.

Its last announced milestone was in May, where it reached, fittingly enough, 3.3 million units sold in 33 days. Clair Obscur was released in April 2025, and despite the shadowdrop of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered, it went on to sell one million units in just three days (not counting Game Pass numbers). Its peak concurrent player count on Steam also reportedly surpassed The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Metaphor: ReFantazio, and other major titles.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is available on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Check out our review here, where we gave it a nine out of ten, praising the storytelling, combat, and presentation.
