CD Projekt has sold GOG.com, its PC game distribution platform, to Michał Kiciński, co-founder of CD Projekt and GOG, who has acquired 100% of the shares for approximately 90.7 million zlotys, or ~$25 million.
The agreement provides for future cooperation, including the release of upcoming CD Projekt Red games on GOG, while allowing CD Projekt to focus on game development.
He also stated:
“I am confident that CD Projekt, with its exceptional AAA games, will continue to support GOG’s offering, making GOG the best place in the world to buy The Witcher and Cyberpunk games, both existing titles and new ones we are all eagerly awaiting.”
Kolinski affirms that GOG will remain true to its values of freedom, independence, and true ownership of games, maintaining its DRM-free game offerings and operational independence.
