Capcom will review the pay-per-view prices for its esports tournaments

Capcom sparked controversy by announcing very high prices for watching its competitions live at Tokyo Game Show last September. The pay-per-view format clearly did not go down well.

To watch the Capcom Cup 12 finals on March 14, 2026, viewers will have to pay around €23.3 ($27). What’s more, a similar amount is being charged for the SFL World Championship on March 15. There’s a package covering both events being sold at €34.6 ($40).

In a message posted on X, the Japanese publisher said it had taken player feedback into account. There’s a review of the pricing underway. The new prices and details will be announced later this month.

Absolutely! It’s encouraging that they’re open to feedback, as it could enhance accessibility for a wider audience. Lower prices might not only boost viewership but also strengthen the community around their esports events.
