Call Of Duty: Black Ops 7 – release time, Xbox Game Pass and maps explained

Ahead of the launch of the newest Call Of Duty game, we run down everything you’ll want to know about its release timing and availability.

After last year’s Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6, developer Treyarch hasn’t had much time to breathe. Usually, Call Of Duty developers get a break between entries but not this time, with Black Ops 7 due out this week – although it’s actually more of a sequel to 2012’s Black Ops 2.

This year’s entry stands to be particularly interesting, as it faces some genuine competition for once, in the form of Battlefield 6, which launched last month and is said to have sold well enough to almost be on par with Call Of Duty. And that’s before you add Arc Raiders to the equation.

It’s too early to tell how well Black Ops 7 will perform by comparison, but we’ve compiled everything you need to know about its release, ahead of time.

What time does Call Of Duty: Black Ops 7 launch?

Call Of Duty: Black Ops 7 launches on Friday, November 14, but the exact time varies depending on your platform of choice.

Console owners on PlayStation or Xbox can start playing from the stroke of midnight, but PC players won’t be able to access the game until 5am GMT.

Will Call Of Duty: Black Ops 7 be available on Xbox Game Pass?

Yes, Black Ops 7 will be available on Xbox Game Pass at launch. That said, if you’re on console, you will need to be subscribed to Game Pass Ultimate, which is the most expensive option at £22.99 a month.

If you’re on PC, you can access Black Ops 7 with a PC Game Pass subscription, which is significantly cheaper at £13.49 a month.

Is Call Of Duty: Black Ops 7 next gen only?

No, Activision is still sticking with cross-gen releases for Call Of Duty games, so Black Ops 7 is available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, as well as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

Despite all Microsoft’s talk, prior to buying Activision, about supporting Nintendo consoles, there is no Switch or Switch 2 version.

How much does Call Of Duty: Black Ops 7 cost?

If you’re not interested in paying for Game Pass, and just want your own copy of Black Ops 7, it’s available for £69.99 on consoles and PC.

On console, this is a cross-gen bundle, so PlayStation fans will get both a PlayStation 5 copy and PlayStation 4 copy, while Xbox fans will get Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One copies.

There is also a more expensive Vault Edition for £99.99, that includes additional cosmetics as well as the battle pass for the first season of post-launch content and 20 free tier skips.

How many multiplayer maps are in Call Of Duty: Black Ops 7?

Black Ops 7 will launch with 18 maps across its various game modes, including a few that have been brought back from Black Ops 2. The full list consists of:
