Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Free Access For Xbox and PC Users Confirmed

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7’s beta early access dates have just been confirmed, along with free access for PC and Xbox players.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is launching in November, and Activision has confirmed an open beta for the game to take place just over a month before launch.

Running for nearly a week, the Black Ops 7 beta will take place across each platform and will give players a chance to check the game out before it releases.

As per the blog post on the official Call of Duty website, the Black Ops 7 early access beta begins on 2nd October at 10AM PT, with the open beta beginning for everyone at the same time on 5th October. Following this, the beta ends for everyone at 10AM PT on 8th October.

It’s probably a good idea for Activision to get the beta into players’ hands before Battlefield 6 is out the following week, after all.

The early access beta is available to anyone who has pre-ordered the game, including the Standard Edition, Cross-Gen edition, Vault Edition, and all Physical Editions.

What’s more, Xbox Game Pass subscribers on either the Ultimate or PC tiers will also receive an invite to the early access beta when it begins on 2nd October. With Activision now owned by Microsoft, it appears that PlayStation Plus users will not receive the same treatment.

As detailed on the post, a digital edition pre-order of the game won’t require a code to get access to the beta. It will simply be available for the associated account that you bought the game on (or wherever you’re subscribed to Game Pass).

However, physical edition pre-orders of the game will require a code to play the beta. You should receive a beta code via the retailer that you purchased the game from.

Betas are a good chance for players to check out a multiplayer game before it fully releases, and it also gives developers the chance to gather early feedback on the game to prepare for launch.

Battlefield 6, for example, ran closed and open betas back in August that were received positively by the community. Considering it’s the first Battlefield in four years, and a sequel to a rather mixed received one at that, it made sense for EA to pull that out of its sleeve.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 launches on 14th November, 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One.
