Calamity Launches Guild System Test, With 3 Million $WYRM Prizes

In Brief

Calamity announces a Guild System Playtest with a new Scholarship and Sponsors system, featuring rewards in $WYRM cryptocurrency.

A total reward pool of 3 million $WYRM tokens and an initial Wyrm Tribute prize pool of 2000 $RON / 1 million Gold is available, with potential for increases through player contributions.

The playtest runs from September 30, 10 AM UTC to October 3, 1 PM UTC, offering players multiple avenues for earning through in-game activities.

Introduction to the Guild System Playtest

Calamity, fee-to-play MMORPG, is launching a new Guild System Playtest designed to enhance player interaction and reward mechanics. This update follows a series of successful playtests conducted earlier this year and introduces a novel “play to earn” model through its Scholarship and Sponsors system.

Understanding Calamity

Calamity offers a rich, pixelated fantasy world where players engage in both Player vs Environment (PvE) and Player vs Player (PvP) battles. The game supports a dynamic economy, driven by player interactions and achievements. Players traverse through rigorous dungeons, acquire and upgrade their gear, and develop strong characters compatible with various gaming styles.

New Features and Rewards

The Guild System introduces a structured community platform within the game, allowing up to 75 players to form a Guild. Members can become Sponsors by depositing Gold in the Guildโ€™s Treasury, earning returns from the earnings of supported players, or Scholars. This system simplifies the resource management, delegating it to Guild leaders who allocate resources to optimize returns for all members.

The performance of Guilds is trackable through a new Guild Leaderboard, which also determines the distribution of substantial $WYRM token rewards based on rankings in dungeon raids.

Reward Distribution and Playtest Details

The Playtest is allocating a substantial prize pool:

Valor (Solo): 1,000,000 $WYRM distributed among the top 185 solo players.

Guilds: 1,225,000 $WYRM shared by the top 5 Guilds.

Fame (Referrals): 450,000 $WYRM awarded to the top 60 referrers.

Sponsors (Scholarships): 325,000 $WYRM for the top 40 sponsors.

The initial Wyrm Tribute prize pool is seeded with 2000 $RON and 1 million Gold, with potential growth through ongoing player purchases during the playtest.

Participation in the Playtest

The playtest window is open from September 30 at 10 AM UTC to October 3 at 1 PM UTC. Players can join by becoming a scholar in an existing Guild, purchasing a Season Pass directly in-game for 2000 Gold, or engaging in special activities like buying Factory NFTs using in-game currency. This not only enhances the gaming experience but also increases the potential rewards pool as more players participate.

Interested gamers can download the open beta for Windows or Mac at the commencement of the playtest. For updates and more information, Calamityโ€™s official channels on Discord, Steam, and Epic Games Store are handy resources.
