Cairn, The Game Baker’s climing simulator, gets excellent grades

On January 29, 2026, The Game Bakers (Furi, Haven) released its latest production, Cairn. Although press reviews just came out at the last minute, the French studio’s title is nonetheless a success.

On Metacritic, Cairn scored an average of 82% on PS5 (19 reviews) and 85% on PC (16 reviews). On OpenCritic, the score is currently 87% with 40 different reviews. As always, the scores are subject to change.

Among its qualities, Cairn benefits from successful gameplay with a real sense of challenge. The storytelling is touching, the art direction superb, and the survival aspect extremely gripping. All this without forgetting the many secrets to discover and a fairly original overall formula.

On the downside, the physics can be a bit clunky at times, falls can be frustrating, and the frame rate isn’t always stable.
