It’s the end of an era for Bungie, which will stop working on new content for Destiny 2 starting June 9. In a message published this week, the studio explained that it wants to focus on its future projects.
Unfortunately, this decision could also have serious consequences for the American company’s teams. According to a report published by Bloomberg, Bungie will focus solely on Marathon in the short term. Many developers have reportedly already been transferred to the PvP title launched last March.
Furthermore, a “significant” number of layoffs is reportedly planned. Bungie reportedly has no new games in production aside from Marathon. Destiny 3 is also reportedly not on the agenda, and no other projects have been approved at this time.
