Bowser Retires From Nintendo

Doug Bowser, the final boss in Nintendo’s Mushroom Kingdom, will say goodbye to the company he’s been with for over a decade. Bowser will step down on December 31, with executive vice president Devon Pritchard taking his presidential throne.

In a press release shared by BusinessWire, Bowser said it’s been “an honor” leading Nintendo in the past decade and he’s “proud” of what the team has accomplished for the business and consumers. He went on to praise Pritchard, saying NOA is ready for new blood.

“Now, it’s time for the next generation of leadership and Devon’s track record speaks for itself,” he said. “She is an exceptional leader, and her promotion is a testament to her strong performance and strategic contributions to the company’s growth. I have full confidence that she will guide the company to even greater heights.”
