If the DOOM franchise has stood the test of time, it is first and foremost because of its nonstop action, but also because of its legendary soundtrack. We owe these songs to Bobby Prince, who sadly passed away on Tuesday.
Robert Caskin “Bobby” Prince III, who was 81, began composing music for video games in the early 1990s. He worked notably with id Software and Apogee. In addition to DOOM and DOOM II, he composed the music for Wolfenstein 3D, Rise of the Triad, and Commander Keen.
This year, the DOOM soundtrack was selected for preservation at the Library of Congress in Washington. Our thoughts are with Bobby Princeβs loved ones.
