Bloodborne Meets Final Fantasy RPG Drops Huge Gameplay Trailer

Bloodborne Meets Final Fantasy RPG Drops Huge Gameplay Trailer

Tides of Annihilation dazzled us all when it was revealed earlier this year during a State of Play.

Today, the upcoming action RPG has surfaced during the Xbox Partner Preview with a brand new trailer, showcasing four minutes of high-octane combat.

Developed by Eclipse Glow Games, Tides of Annihilation is an upcoming action RPG inspired by Arthurian legend.

Set within a shattered version of London, the game follows Gwendolyn who must fight alongside spectral knights against a horde of enemies in a bid to save her family and piece a broken world back together.

Jennifer English is bringing that role to life, an actor who continues to go from strength to strength, carrying on what has been a career-making couple of years.

After dazzling as fan-favourite Shadowheart in 2023’s Baldur’s Gate 3, Jennifer recently picked up a Game Awards nod for her turn as Maelle in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

We’ll find out who takes away this year’s prize at The Game Awards on 11 December, next month.

This is our second glimpse at Tides of Annihilation with this latest trailer focusing on a boss fight between Gwendolyn, backed up by ally Lamorak, and a colossal demi-god by the name of Tyranoe.

The player is able to control both characters, making use of a mirror realm shift ability.

“We’ve created a world that reimagines Arthurian Legend where themes of courage, loyalty, and heroism intertwine with an epic story set in a strange-yet-familiar setting that will test the mettle of true gamers and push the genre forward,” said Kun Fu, lead game producer at Eclipse Glow Games in a press release.

“We are thrilled to share the next chapter of Gwendolyn’s journey, and this is only the beginning.”

Tides of Annihilation Launch Window and Release Platforms

We know that Tides of Annihilation is coming to Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 consoles, as well as PC via Epic Games Store and Steam.

On Xbox, it’ll support Xbox Play Anywhere meaning if you own the game on console, you’ll also be able to enjoy it across other platforms that support Xbox, like PC – and it’s great to see third-party developers on board with this initiative from Xbox.

What we don’t know is when Tides of Annihilation will land, as no release window has yet been outlined.

Tides of Annihilation is already drumming up some serious hype though, so this is definitely a game to keep an eye on as we head towards 2026 and beyond.
