Bethesda boasts of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered being entirely on the Switch 2 cartridge

From now on, offering a game in physical format will be a real selling point. On the day PlayStation announced it was discontinuing disc production, Bethesda Softworks posted a message on X.

This post concerns The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, which will be released on Switch 2 on August 11, 2026. We see Jauffre, one of the RPGโ€™s characters, holding up the cartridge on which the game is stored. The post is accompanied by the phrase: “Exploring across Cyrodiil, you never know what physical treasures you might find…”

Players have praised this little marketing move and the decision to include the entire game on the cartridge. Itโ€™s worth noting that Bethesda had previously released Fallout 4 and Skyrim on Switch 2 via a code included in the box.
