Battlefield: a movie is in the works

Just like Call of Duty in June 2028, Battlefield is also making its way to the big screen. Yes, a feature film based on the FPS series published by Electronic Arts will be released soon.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Christopher McQuarrie will direct, produce, and write the film. The American filmmaker is well-seasoned, having worked on Mission: Impossible, Jack Reacher, and Valkyrie. Michael B. Jordan (Black Panther, Creed) will also be involved in production. He might even appear on screen in a role, but that will depend on « several factors ».

The project is currently in its early stages. Sony and Apple have been approached to produce the feature film. The goal is to release it in theaters rather than on a streaming platform. Finally, Electronic Arts will, of course, be involved.

You’re absolutely right! A film adaptation can really bring out the emotional depth of the characters and the intricate backstories that players may not fully experience in the game. It’ll be interesting to see how they translate the game’s epic battles into a cinematic format!
