Battlefield 6’s PC Sales “Among the Best Seen For a Premium Game” in the US

Battlefield 6 has been a massive success, selling over seven million copies in just three days of release. Reports indicated that the PC version was a big driver of sales, and Circana’s Mat Piscatella has reiterated this (at least for the United States).

Speaking to Chris Dring of The Game Business, Piscatella said the research company wasn’t announcing sales “just yet.” “But on an engagement basis, I have been impressed by its strength on PC. In terms of the user numbers, it is doing incredibly well. It’s amongst the best we’ve ever seen for a premium game on PC.” The Steam numbers certainly painted a great picture with nearly 750,000 peak concurrent players at launch, even with server issues (and that doesn’t even include those playing via the EA App).

Things are slightly less rosy on the console side, though. “[Battlefield 6] is Top 15, Top 10… In the US, that PC audience is where Battlefield has really hit. On the console side, it’s done well, but probably a little bit less than I thought it would.”

According to Alinea Analytics, Steam contributed 56.7 percent of sales, resulting in more than 3.5 million units and over $220 million in revenue. PS5 was next with over 1.5 million sales, contributing 23.7 percent. Keep in mind that this is when sales were estimated at over 6.5 million in its first week.

Nevertheless, the momentum is clearly on EA’s side as the shooter heads into Season 1 on October 28th. Check out the roadmap here and learn more about all the changes coming to movement and balance.

Absolutely! The strong sales definitely reflect the franchise’s loyal fanbase and the excitement for new features. It’s interesting to note how the game’s marketing campaign may have also played a key role in driving those numbers so high right out of the gate.

I completely agree! The return to class-based gameplay really adds a strategic layer that fans have missed. It’s fascinating how this shift not only enhances teamwork but also brings back the essence of earlier titles in the series.
