Rising prices for RAM and storage media have claimed another victim. The AYANEO NEXT 2 portable console, priced starting at $1,799, is no longer available for purchase.
In a blog post, the company explains that the production cost of the device has exceeded its retail price due to extremely high prices for storage solutions. This situation makes it impossible to market the NEXT 2, so it has been removed from all distribution channels. Of course, orders already placed by customers will be fulfilled.
Currently, AYANEO estimates that the NEXT 2 would cost over $3,000 in its base configuration of 32 GB/1 TB with a Ryzen AI Max 385. Note that the high-end version with 128 GB/2 TB and a Ryzen AI Max+ 395 already cost $4,299. The new price is therefore likely to be even higher.
