Last year, Avalanche Studios showed worrying signs by announcing layoffs and closing its Liverpool offices. Now, the Swedish firm known for the Just Cause franchise appears to be working on an ambitious project.
In fact, the studio recently posted new job listings that hint at the nature of its next game. The job description for a senior technical designer states that the person hired will be responsible for “creating scenarios for events, experiences, and systems in open worlds”. It is not specified whether this is a new title or part of an existing franchise.
Released in 2018, Just Cause 4 has yet to get a sequel.
