Although announced at the Xbox Games Showcase, Persona 6 has remained largely shrouded in mystery regarding its story and content. The first teaser simply hints at a relatively dark world.
Atlus has posted the page for this sixth installment on the Sony and Microsoft stores, along with some additional information. The Japanese publisher has deliberately remained very vague about the plot of this installment. Like its predecessors, Persona 6 will feature a standalone storyline and can therefore serve as a gateway for newcomers.
The description echoes the series’ familiar formula, with one part centered on the protagonist’s student life and another on the supernatural dimension involving the Shadows. We’ll be immersed in contemporary Japan, where we’ll need to build friendships and nurture love for those around us. Persona 6 will also feature “strange rumors, unsettling urban legends, and occult incidents.”
With Persona 6, Atlus promises “a bold new story” with charismatic characters.
