Atari has acquired a studio specializing in 32-bit game emulation

As a legendary video game brand, Atari is now fully committed to preserving gaming heritage. The French company’s recent acquisition further reinforces this strategy.

Indeed, Atari has announced the acquisition of Implicit Conversion, a studio specializing in 32-bit game emulation, including titles from the original PlayStation. The developer has notably worked on Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection and Rayman in collaboration with Digital Eclipse.

Through this partnership, the two companies plan to release more retro games on modern consoles. Atari CEO Wade Rosen commented on the matter in a press release.
