Assassin’s Creed Shadows runs well on Switch 2 despite some framerate issues

Ubisoft will release Assassin’s Creed Shadows on Switch 2 this tuesday, December 2, 2025. After Star Wars Outlaws, this is another very ambitious port that the French publisher is preparing to release on Nintendo’s console.

According to an initial comparison, this version performs rather well. Concessions have obviously been made on elements such as lighting, textures, animations, display distance, and reflections. However, the game still looks great.

The game runs at 1440p (720p dynamic) with DLSS at 30 FPS when docked and at 1080p (540p dynamic) with DLSS at 30 FPS when portable. Unfortunately, there are some fairly significant frame rate drops in more urban areas with a higher density of NPCs. Updates will be needed to improve this aspect.

Absolutely! It’s great to hear that it’s running well overall. The Switch 2’s capability to handle such a visually rich game is impressive, and it’ll be interesting to see how the game’s unique mechanics translate to the handheld experience.
