Following its massive shuffle of global studios into various Creative Houses, Ubisoft has announced who will be heading up leadership for Assassin’s Creed at Vantage Studios. The list includes Martin Schelling, appointed as Assassin’s Creed Brand Head; Jean Guesdo, Head of Content; and Francois de Billy, Head of Production Excellence.
Schelling has a long, storied history with the franchise. Previously serving as Chief Production Officer at Ubisoft, he’s worked on Assassin’s Creed Revelations, Black Flag, Origins, and Valhalla. Guesdo has worked on the first game, back in 2007, and served as Creative Director on Black Flag and Origins. Finally, Billy is known for working as a Production Director on Origins and Valhalla, and has “collaborated closely” with Guesdo on “multiple flagship” titles in the franchise.
Joining their transition over the following weeks is producer Andree-Anne Boisvert, who handles cross-brand initiatives for the franchise while also serving as head of technological excellence. There’s also VP Lionel Hiller, working on brand and go-to-market strategy. However, the key trio’s role will be to play “a pivotal role in driving the Assassin’s Creed brand’s long-term vision, creative ambition, and continued growth.”
Thus far, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot has confirmed several Assassin’s Creed titles in development, which include single-player and multiplayer experiences. While he didn’t explicitly list these titles, we know of Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe, the next mainline single-player title, and Assassin’s Creed Invictus, a multiplayer title.
