ARC Raiders Will Refund Gear Lost to Cheaters, Even If You Didn’t Report Them

Surviving in the Rust Belt in ARC Raiders can be difficult, especially with cheaters on the prowl. If you lose your hard-earned loot, however, don’t despair – Embark Studios is on the case.

Based on reports from various players on Reddit, the developer is restoring any lost loot to those who ran into cheaters. Even better is the fact that this is happening without having to report the latter at all.

“Your items were lost due to unfair play, but we managed to get them back for you! They’re now available for you to claim and take with you on your next journey Topside,” it said in the accompanying message.

“We’re committed to building an environment where gameplay is about skill, teamwork, and fun, not unfair advantages. Thank you for being part of this mission! Together, we’re building ARC Raiders into a fair and fun experience for everyone.”

Though cheaters will continue to inhabit the space, as they usually do in online multiplayer titles, it’s refreshing to see a developer go the extra mile to combat them.

ARC Raiders is available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. It peaked at nearly 350,000 concurrent players on Steam recently, and currently holds a “Very Positive” rating based on 30,131 user reviews. It’s definitely reassuring to see developers committed to fair play! Offering refunds for lost gear can really help maintain player trust. It’s also interesting to note how this could encourage more players to report cheating, knowing there’s a safety net in place.
