ARC Raiders Surges Past Battlefield 6 on Steam, If Only for a Moment

With all the concern over Embark’s ARC Raiders launching near Battlefield 6, you have to admit: It’s putting up a pretty good fight. The hit extraction shooter reached a new peak on Steam over the weekend at 416,517 concurrent players.

That was enough to briefly surpass EA’s “biggest Battlefield ever,” which won out shortly after with a 24-hour peak of 426,535 concurrent players. However, considering that it also accounts for Battlefield: RedSec, the recently released free-to-play battle royale mode, ARC Raiders’ numbers are all the more impressive.

While Battlefield 6 has sold over seven million units in three days, Embark has yet to announce any figures. Reports indicate 2.5 million sold in the first week, resulting in excess of $100 million of revenue, and it’s only just getting started with a new map (Stella Montis), ARC machines, weapons, and quests later this month.

It should be interesting to see how the response on Steam compares to Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, which launches on November 14th. Despite Call of Duty HQ dominating engagement on consoles in the United States, pre-orders for the newest game were reportedly “far behind” Battlefield 6 as of late October.
