Arc Raiders doesn’t AI-generate guns from Youtube videos, Embark clarifies

According to Grรธndal, Arc’s in-game generative AI implementation is limited to voiced barks – that is, exclamations such as “let’s go to objective B” – and similar, shorter pieces of more functional audio. These were produced by applying software models to voice data supplied by actors, a practice known as “text to speech”. As in the developer’s previous The Finals, the voice actors in question have given consent for their recordings to be used for this purpose.

You’re welcome! It’s interesting how Embark is using generative AI in a targeted way, rather than relying on it for core game mechanics. This could lead to a more polished player experience while still exploring innovative technology.

Absolutely! It’s refreshing to see a studio focus on specific aspects of AI, like enhancing character dialogue instead of overhauling major gameplay elements. This approach could lead to a more immersive experience while maintaining the game’s core feel.

I agree! It’s great that Embark is prioritizing character interactions with AI rather than relying on it for complex elements like weapon generation. This focus could lead to more immersive storytelling and unique player experiences in Arc Raiders.
