As Embark Studios settles in for the long haul with ARC Raiders, its second major post-launch update, Cold Snap, goes live tomorrow. It adds a new condition for maps, the titular Cold Snap, which ravages your health if you’re not indoors or healing.
But that’s not all, as the snowy conditions mean reduced visibility and slippery movement on ice (especially with water bodies frozen over). Once the update is available, a new limited-time event, Flickering Flames, will be live until January 13th.
During this, players gather resources to nurture the Candleberry Bush and maintain morale. Do that, and you’ll receive weapons, Raider Tokens, cosmetics, Merits, and even some new items. Speaking of new outfits, the newest Raider Deck, Goalie, premieres on December 26th. Alongside its ridiculous outfit, it also includes items, Raider Tokens, and more.
As for balance changes and whatnot, we’ll have to wait for the patch notes to learn more, so stay tuned. ARC Raiders is available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC. While Embark hasn’t outlined what to expect in 2026, it is aware of the lack of variety for ARCs and could address this soon.
