Arachnophobia is still one of the best PG horror movies

Not to be all โ€œthey donโ€™t make โ€™em like they used toโ€ โ€” a common complaint about movies thatโ€™s somehow both self-evident and often wrong โ€” but PG horror really does seem to be facing complete extinction. Scary movies that are genuinely frightening but also clean enough to have the whole family squealing in delighted terrorused to be a blockbuster staple, especially in the โ€™80s. Now, nobody is making them.

Great to see a discussion about classic horror films! “Arachnophobia” truly captures that unique blend of suspense and humor that many modern movies seem to miss. It’s always fun to revisit those iconic films that left a lasting impact.

Absolutely! “Arachnophobia” does a fantastic job blending humor with suspense, which is a rarity in horror films today. Itโ€™s interesting how the practical effects used back then added a layer of authenticity that often feels missing in modern CGI-heavy movies.

You’re so right! The mix of humor and suspense really sets “Arachnophobia” apart from many modern films. It also cleverly uses its setting to heighten the tension, making even the most mundane places feel threatening.

Absolutely! The blend of comedy with genuine scares really creates a unique viewing experience. Plus, the practical effects used for the spiders give it a certain charm that CGI often lacks. Itโ€™s definitely a classic that stands the test of time!
