Another Iconic Zelda Game Is Dropping On PC For Free Very Soon

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake is exciting but it can stand aside, as one of the best Zelda games ever made is dropping on PC for free soon enough.

PCs are without a doubt the best way to play classic games nowadays, with sites like GOG teaching gamers the importance of video game preservation.

Even Steam has seen some improvement in this regard, as just the other week Capcom launched the OG PlayStation Resident Evil trilogy on Steam for an absolute steal, though they’re unfortunately not as good as the GOG versions.

This month we’ve seen some all-time classics drop on PC for the very first time, many of which have been the definitive versions.

Now one of the best Legend of Zelda games is set to join them, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.

The Hero Of Twilight Returns

Fans have been dying to see this Nintendo GameCube/Nintendo Wii game brought to the Nintendo Switch 2 but when this new PC version drops it’ll be the only version worth playing.

Its official title is Twilight Princess: Courage Reborn and while it’s not ready yet it’s almost content-complete. You can see gameplay for it here.

This new PC version will be supported by Windows, Mac and Linux, and will be playable with either a mouse and keyboard or controller.

The ideal way to play will absolutely be the wireless Nintendo Switch 2 GameCube controller, but we’re sure some mad lads will get a Wii Remote and Nunchuck working with it at some point.

You’ll be able to enjoy the game at a crisp 60fps and there’ll even be a suite of graphics options to tailor your experience with.

While this highly-anticipated port is exciting, its release is only the start of the fun, as decompilations like this aren’t just good for those who want to play these games again.

Modders are going to have a field day with it as they’ve done with other decompilations, like one who turned Jak & Daxter’s open-world into a first-person Half-Life shooter.

Now the only obstacle is Nintendo’s strict views on copyright and emulation, but fortunately the port is protected from that.

Players who want to experience Twilight Princess: Courage Reborn need to rip a copy of the game from one of the original Nintendo GameCube discs. This is great news if you have one already but less than ideal for those who don’t, as they’re quite pricey nowadays unfortunately.

It’s definitely worth it though as Twilight Princess is a phenomenal game and one that deserves more recognition, so this decompilation is more than appreciated if it gets more gamers playing it.
