A little surprise awaits players of Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Nintendo has placed a gift in the mailbox of every island resident.
This note from the Japanese dev was written to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Animal Crossing series. The first game, known as Dōbutsu no Mori, was released on the Nintendo 64 on April 14, 2001, in Japan.
“Dear friends,
It’s been 25 since 4/14/01. It was said, ‘Better than one is two, better than two is four, and better than four is… many.’ And there are so many of you now! Thank you. Enjoy your islands your way.
Sincerely, Nintendo.”
This message is accompanied by the “Leaf Statue” gift, which is none other than the franchise’s logo. You can use it as a piece of furniture to decorate your house or the island’s exterior.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons also got a new patch that fixes various bugs.
