AMD presents the Ryzen Embedded 9000

AMD has officially announced the new Ryzen Embedded 9000 series, a byproduct of the Ryzen 9000 desktop processors but adapted for industrial environments, automation, and embedded systems. These chips are designed to offer up to seven years of guaranteed support, with increased stability and reliability.

The top-of-the-line Ryzen Embedded 9950X3D features 16 Zen 5 cores, 32 threads, a TDP of 170W, and 128MB of L3 cache thanks to 3D V-Cache technology. The other models—9950X, 9900X, 9800X3D, 9700X, and 9600X—retain the same frequencies and configurations as their consumer counterparts.

Engraved in 4 nm, these processors support DDR5 memory, PCIe 5.0 and, for some, integrated RDNA 2 graphics, eliminating the need for a dedicated card in certain applications.

AMD says that a Ryzen PRO Embedded version will arrive later in 2025, with up to 10 years of support, as well as advanced security and management features. This launch also confirms the longevity of the AM5 socket, which will clearly remain at the heart of AMD’s strategy for years to come.
