After Spiders, Nacon is trying to sell Midgar Studio (Edge of Memories)

Due to its dire financial situation, Nacon needs to reduce its staff. As a result, the French publisher is trying to divest itself of some of its subsidiaries.

Nacon had previously tried to sell Spiders (Greedfall), which will soon close due to a lack of buyers. Now, Midgar Studio is facing the same fate with its immediate sale. The Montpellier-based studio presented Edge of Memories, a new single-player action-RPG, at Nacon Connect this week.

Midgar Studio currently has 29 employees.

It’s interesting to see how the gaming industry is evolving, especially with companies facing tough choices. It’s always tough when financial challenges lead to staff reductions. I hope both Nacon and Midgar Studio find a positive path forward.

You’re absolutely right! The industry’s shifts often reveal how quickly things can change. It’s also notable how smaller studios like Midgar can struggle under financial pressures, even when they create unique experiences. This could open up opportunities for new talent or innovative projects in the future.
