Although Palworld is still in early access, Pocketpair has kept its foot firmly on the gas pedal and has announced a spin-off called Palworld: Palfarm.
Pocketpair has not slowed down since announcing Palworld, and although the title is still in early access, the developers behind the Pal-laden title have announced a new cozier spin-off featuring Pals in greener pastures. The new title is called Palworld: Palfarm, and if the name wasn’t a dead giveaway, the popular characters from Palworld will be included (but it hasn’t been confirmed if the new Tides of Terraria update will be).
As the name suggests, fans and their tower of Pals will be farming, crafting, building (which you can also do in Palworld), and cultivating a life on the land. Instead of functioning like a survival Monster Hunter with creatures, Palfarm brings an atmosphere akin to Stardew Valley or Animal Crossing. Pocketpair announced the spin-off with an official reveal trailer and a new page for the title on Steam. The trailer can be seen below.
Like every cozy farming game, Palfarm will let players cultivate a farm, grow crops and live a life on a new frontier alongside Pals. Popular creatures from the base title will make an appearance, as Anubis and other popular creatures for battle have acclimated to the farming lifestyle. The trailer revealed a new Pal not seen before, Sekhmet, who works alongside Anubis as the resident blacksmith, so it’s clear new pals can make an appearance.
On the flip side, life on the farm isn’t all sunshine and rainbows. Players will have to defend their farm from errant Pal raiders, and there’s even a part shown in the trailer where you can buy guns. Palfarm, while cozy, is definitely still Palworld through and through.
Palworld: Palfarm doesn’t have a release date yet, and appears to only be confirmed in development for Steam at the moment. Seeing as how Palworld followed the same Steam-first approach, it’s possible Palfarm could come to Xbox Game Pass as well, but fans will only know for certain when Pocketpair makes another announcement.
