According to YouTuber MrRebs, who specializes in the franchise, Halo: Combat Evolved Remake is in development at Abstraction, a Dutch studio owned by Virtuos. It reportedly runs on a hybrid engine, as was the case for the new version of Oblivion.
The XboxEra website has corroborated the existence of the remake, but specifies that Halo Studios is at the helm of this project, so Virtuos would be a co-developer. It remains to be seen whether the game will be announced on October 24 during the Halo World Championship.
